BJSW papers

Tot eind oktober zijn een tiental artikelen uit The British Journal for Social Work vrij beschikbaar. Dit naar aanleiding van de jaarlijkse conferentie van de International Federation of Social Worker. Je kan ze hier raadplegen.

Global Definition of Social Work

IFSW General Meeting en IASSW General Assembly stelden in juli 2014 een algemene definitie van sociaal werk op:

“Social work is a practice-based profession and an academic discipline that promotes social change and development, social cohesion, and the empowerment and liberation of people. Principles of social justice, human rights, collective responsibility and respect for diversities are central to social work. Underpinned by theories of social work, social sciences, humanities and indigenous knowledge, social work engages people and structures to address life challenges and enhance wellbeing.
The above definition may be amplified at national and/or regional levels”.

Conferentie 'Social Work Social Development 2012: Action and Impact'

Tussen 8 en 15 juli organiseren International Association of Schools of Social Work (IASSW), the International Council on Social Welfare (ICSW) en the International Federation of Social Workers (IFSW) in Stockholm de conferentie 'Social Work Social Development 2012: Action and Impact'. In het programma is er ruimte voor discussie in volgende domeinen: 1. Human Rights and Social Equality 2. Environmental Change and Sustainable Social Development 3.
